What Makes Die-Casting Zinc Alloy Ideal for Tachometer Holders?
Zinc alloys, particularly those formulated for die casting (such as Zamak 3 and Zamak 5), bring a host of benefits that make them perfect for tachometer holders.
Zinc alloys boast impressive tensile strength and rigidity, allowing holders to withstand the constant vibrations, temperature fluctuations, and mechanical stress of engine bays or industrial environments. Unlike plastic ones, which may warp or crack over time, zinc alloy resists fatigue, ensuring the tachometer stays securely in place for years.
Tachometer holders come in diverse shapes, from simple brackets to complex designs with threaded holes, slots, or integrated cable management features. Zinc alloy's low melting point and fluidity during casting allow it to replicate intricate mold details, reducing the need for post-casting machining. Manufacturers can easily add features like mounting flanges, insulation grooves, or branding logos directly in the mold, streamlining production.
How Are Zinc Alloy Holders Made?
These tachometers are made by die casting. First of all, engineers create a precision steel mold according to the samples from our client.
Then zinc alloy ingots are melted in a furnace and injected into the mold under high pressure to fill every cavity, ensuring sharp detail replication.
The mold cools rapidly, solidifying the alloy into the desired shape. The finished mount is ejected, with minimal flash to trim.

Holders undergo deburring to remove sharp edges, followed by surface treatments, chroming, and painting:

Die-cast zinc alloy holders may not be the most glamorous component, but they are the backbone of accurate RPM measurement, ensuring safety, performance, and longevity in countless applications. Whether you're building a performance vehicle, industrial machine, or marine craft, choosing a zinc alloy mount means investing in precision you can trust, ride after ride, run after run.
